Title: New golf discount?
Post by: wag29 on 12 October 2013, 11:44
Hi all am thinking of trading in my 2012 golf gti in for a new gtd 184ps, as this is a new model has anyone been offered decent discounts on the o/t/r price? was talking to dealer yesterday and he offered me just£500 pound off price!. Of course I would not settle for that but what sort of realistic discount do you think I should push for? looking for standard car in solid white with no options to add. PS what sort of waiting times are we looking at?. Offered me £19,500 for my GTI. Im looking for cashback on my part ex so looking at going for the solutions deal over 3 years, so a deposit of around £8000. Cheers

I'm not sure how it works out with the finance, but if you can get about 9-10% and a good part ex you should be in business. This is what the general consensus was by the folk on here.

People are easily getting 7-8% without asking any questions, you can use quotes from DriveTheDeal for a bit of leverage to make the last steps to the deal.

No options makes it the discount harder for the dealer, the options are where they can save you bucks.
