Title: Lower breather hose. PS im an idiot!
Post by: shiloh on 10 October 2013, 16:08
Hi, I have done something really stupid  on my 1.8T 2002. While changing the crankcase breather hose to a silicon one I managed to split the lower breather hose. I then ordered a new silicon lower breather hose but managed to order this one instead because I am an idiot

The one I should have ordered was this

I was wondering if anyone has any guide or information on how to fit this lower breather pipe. I'm a complete novice where it comes to working on cars and cant see how to get in and disconnect the T-section where the PCV valve is. Hoped this would be an easy fix and would get away without having to remove the original T-piece but apparently not .

I remember when i changed mine i took the whole lot out and done it off the car then fitted it in after.remove the plate by the dip stick the one with all the connectors and hoses on it swing it out the way you will have a lot more room.i think you have to cut the bit out of the old t piece and push it into the new one its not hard to fit at all.get some good jubilee clips aswel
