OK i have an anniversary petrol golf running stage 2 R-tech on the way home last night my car decided to through the traction light and epc light on it wouldn't rev up and the car sounded like it was running on 3 cylinders
After turning the car off and restarting it everything was back to normal run fine all the way home 30 miles.
when we scanned it there was no fault as anyone had this happen to them just dont want this happening again on the motorway cheers.....
-
Have you had the coil pack recall carried out?
Give it a scan and post the codes. More than likely coil related.
-
Hi yes its had brand new coil packs on recall will vagcom it late and see if it come back with anything cheers
-
Sounds like it went into limp mode, which would suggest a pressure drop.
When was the oil pickup pipe changed? Or has it ever been done?
-
Hi mate it's never been changed and I've owned the car 7 years do you think that could be the problem
-
surely it would of registered a fault code if gone into limp mode i'd of thought.
You scanned it using VCDS or a hand held device?
-
Hi mate I used one of them supa vags but marks guna scan it later
-
can miss fault codes the cheaper hand held scanners but would of thought a supa vag has all known VAG codes.
is mark able code clocks now? had no reply off dave
-
Mark carnt do imo3..... Keep trying him he will do them
-
Baxx, I would defo get your oil pickp changed ASAP
-
Pickup pipe is definitely worth replacing, I'd expect it to do it again if that's to blame though.
-
Cheers guys looks like I'm guna be busy this weekend lol
Vagcom came back with no faults
Fingers crossed it's the pick up pipe
-
cant see the pick up being the problem or as dom said it would have done it again by now
-

Hmmmm i had the battery off the other day to remove the carbonio filter will check tomorrow cheers mate
-
Could be maf related, they make the car run like a pig and throw the traction control light on
-
its 100% not the pickup pipe no stop oil pressure when you boot it no rattles on startup there all are signs of the pickup being blocked ive done loads of these plus i know how well this cars looked after and serviced well before its due one hes a good mate of mine
-
good news, how-ever It wouldn't hurt to change it :)

the car is back to normal on power but still a little hick up when setting off
-
Making good power. Boost is a little laggy perhaps but no oddness to it. Injectors dc is very high, you're reaching the upper limit of those for sure.
Log blocks 001, 020 and 031 and repost.
