Hi,
I have just been driving home and had a light come on the dash. Looked it up and it says fault in catalytic converter. Turned to the other page which says "misfiring which damages the cat -correct action "decrease speed. Drive carefully to the next the workshop. Have engine checked.
Anyone else had this?
Do you think the cat maybe damaged and how much to replace?

Not likely to be the catalytic converter mate, more than likely a Lambda Sensor. This can cause damage to the Cat though if it's over fueling due to a faulty sensor.
Just get it checked as soon as you can :)

Cheers for the reply, going to book it in tomorrow and leave it in the garage till it can go in. I have another car to use.

Yeah that's ideal mate! Hopefully is just a lambda and nothing more serious but wouldn't imagine it's much more than that!

Hopefully you won't need one but evo are quoting £798.47 (exchange basis) for a new cat in their buying guide for the mk6.
