My car is still having intermittent problems with loss of power and also it splutters and chugs.
I've been told that it could be coil packs, but I've taken the leads off one by one and the engine noise has changed on all of them. Could anyone point me in the right direction ?

If your happy with the coil packs it could be a faulty MAF sensor.

ignition amplifier bolted to the side of your air box.take leads off and give a squirt of wd40 or take your maf plug off and give it a drive up the road to see if it idles and drives better.

hi dean, glad to see your still here, haven't heard from you in a while.
have you fitted an aftermarket air filter by any chance?. if you've removed the heatsink from the ignition module theres a high chance its fried. always keep the ign amp cool.
other possibilities as already suggested are maf. I doubt its your coil packs being an agu as these are pretty bullet proof. never say never though.
as MAC said, unplug the maf and see if it runs smoother. that`ll point towards the maf.
