Title: window regulator?
Post by: nhop10 on 06 October 2013, 21:36
has anyone tried fitting mk4 window regulators to a mk3? basically my passenger side stopped working, so i bought and fitted a second hand one to replace it, then that broke after a few months. now my drivers side has stopped working.

So has anyone tried fitting mk4 ones as i cant be arsed to fix both for the to break again as they are really irritatign and fidly to get perfect? i havent actually seen what a mk4 one looks like but surely it cant be too different/hard to mod to fit? the only main worry i had was the electric connectors? but surely could just snip and join up all the wires i imagine

Mk4 one comes on metal panel which bolts directly to door and these are less reliable than mk3 items

Fitted a mk4 one yesterday well it was a beetle but same thing, doubt it will fit tbh mk3 motor wont mount to it and looks slightly different proportion wise

mk4 one's as said seem to be worse!! Luckily you can buy new mk3 spec one's for little ££ as both febi and Topran do them
