Title: Park Assist
Post by: pauliem on 06 October 2013, 19:37
I've actually got stuff to talk about now that I own the car.

For those of you who have yet to place your order and considering Park Assist - I'd highly recommend it.  I really bought it so that if my girlfriend was driving she wouldn't have to get stressed parking etc.

But actually I've used it loads myself already and while it is a lazy option, it works incredibly well and I don' think I could do a better job of parking than it does.  The manoeuvre is so precise and quick that it makes parallel parking a complete breeze.

For such a cheap option, it is very worthwhile.

Agree but how spooky is it first time, especially seeing the steering wheel turn all by itself

For the price, it's a steal!
Freaky when it's takes the wheel though, yeh!

It is freaky, but it is a great thing if you want to "show off" - look how clever my new car is.

I haven't tried parallel parking yet, but I have done the reversing into a bay about four times so far. Even took the wife down to the supermarket to demo it. It is very strange the first couple of times, all you have to do is change gear from reverse to drive and back again as needed and control the accelerator and brake. It sounds difficult, but it works very well and is a little spooky to be honest. Can thoroughly recommend it for the price.
