Hi guys
I have a 1.8 20v turbo which just feels under powered
It has the AUM engine, which had a proper rebuild and a new turbo last year, engine sounds lovely, car drives real nice but it boosts at what feels like 8psi tops!
This is my first petrol turbo Golf Iv'e had it two weeks.
It had a Forge dv on it and some pathetic excuse of an induction kit
I have purchased a standard air box and fitted that and re fitted the standard re circ valve and re set the actuator using the 3 turn method and it still feels underpowered, you can here the turbo very faintly then a little silent hiss between gear changes with the Forge dv in place!
I know it's standard but surely I should get a little kick, or some torque steer?
Any help what to check greatly appreciated
I plugged it in no faults present, not got vag-com because I run a mac :undecided:

The 150s were fairly 'flat' as standard. Get it mapped will be a different car

OK cheers, will look into it.
I heard the N75 can fail? where is it and can I test it?

If you're getting 8psi it sounds like it's fine, just standard.
You won't get any torque steer even on a mapped car, I don't get any on mine

Thats because you petrol boys cant produce enough torque

First time I drove mine I also thought the turbo was missing
Remap fixes that, it will be the singularly best modification you do to a car.

And the singularly best mod to start causing you problems, especially if your car is standard and your boost hoses for example are the originals.... potentially a remap can cost more than expected.
My 150 agu doesn't feel that slow unless your doing a rolling start then its just pants. rag it from the off and its still got some go! maybe I've just got an healthy engine for now :lipsrsealed:

Problems you have prior to map will be highlighted, yes.
What else can you spend £200 on and get 50 extra HP? Even if you do have to replace your (already) failing parts?

Agreed, hands down best purchase I've ever made for a car. £250 inc. rolling road at Jabbasport went from 148 to 203. Transformation of the car
