My car is also confirmed for BW 44. However, I think it will take sometime to get to South Africa, I am hoping for December delivery.
I will keep you posted
-
Me too. I've got
I ordered a 5 door carbon grey manual and Performance Pack.
it's drive the deal, so I'm off to Kent to pick it up.
-
Hello BW 44ers, my Gti in Tornado red has also been confirmed BW 44, lets hope it sticks and we get our cars soon! I ordered mine from KIng's Lynn VW and asked them if I could have an independent company come and detail the car before collection, they agreed provided it was done on a Saturday afternoon after their valeters had finished work. Been thinking about this and I can't imagine I will be able to wait any longer, once my car arrives I will be wanting to be in it!!!!  Come on VW!
-
For some odd reason, the dealer just told me my car is scheduled for BW 45. I'm gonna have to leave you guys
-
I think BW 45 means you get the updated folding mirrors on locking/unlock and the updated MDI cable. Not all bad I guess!

Wait...I'm lost. I thought all gtd and gti's wing mirrors unfolded upon opening Nd locking or is this not the case? I get mine mid no bw 43
-
I think there's other discussions on here somewhere saying its on ignition and not unlocking. Could be wrong as not got the car.
-
They unfurl when you are in the car and put the ignition on, and fold in when you leave the car and lock it with the fob or are out of open range (keyless).
-
Just confirmed from my dealer as BW44. (GTI PP with everything but leather seats and sun roof, including rear camera.) Ordered September 9.
I guess LHD models are on shorter delivery...
-
Come on VW its build week 44!!!! I am getting excited now and can't stop checking for any sign of progress, how about all you other BW44ers?
-
No movement for me yet either ... I'm waiting for it to say in transit by the end of the week! Wishful thinking I think!!
-
Yup, first one to "build in progress!"...
-
Yup, first one to "build in progress!"...
Well done mistertee, hope I get good news soon too!
-
Sorry, i meant "who is going to be the first to get built?". Mine is still confirmed only..
-
Hello build week neighbours
Over on BW43 we didn't get any movement until yesterday - the auto tick over of status to build in progress. Whether or not the build is actually in progress remains to be seen!
Fun times for us all
-
Thanks for the heads up Monsta. That fits in with what the dealer told me, they are about a week behind at the moment.
Anyone else with JCB medway?
-
Anyone had any updates or movement on the tracker? I see a few of the BW 43 guys are in transit so I guess this bodes well for the cars being built this week and the factory back on schedule.
-
Still no movement on the tracker other than build confirmed for WC 27 Oct.
-
Still no movement on the tracker other than build confirmed for WC 27 Oct.
2 more days and then your into the next build week. perhaps ask for a update from your dealer on Sunday as their system is a lot more in depth than the online tracker.
-
Build in progress!
-
Wouldn't get too excited as I'm bw43 and still in build..... There is still a 1 week delay even if the tracker is showing in build..... But what's another week when everyone has waited so long.....
Ian
-
Any build running late will tick over to "build in progress" when the allocated build week has been and gone e.g. Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Likewise, BW43 and on build in progress but it automatically ticked over.
-
Now I'm a bit sad :(
-
On the positive side other people who ticked over are now in transit. And some BW42 cars are being picked up already!
-
Come on guys no more doom and gloom, we have 'Build in progress'! That may or may not mean VW are a week behind, but it also means cars are being built right now. Not long now, early Christmas present me thinks! :smug:
-
Just spoke to my dealership (JCB Medway), the car hasn't commenced build but they are according to him, a week behind, the next time his system will update is Wednesday so I'll check again next week.
Anyone else got any further info?
-
See the BW43 thread, mine went into production this morning so 2 weeks behind sort of... who knows what is going on at the factory though!
-
Yeah I was on the phone to vw asking if our cars will be built to BW 44 spec or BW 45 spec as slightly different and our cars were not built in BW 44. Anyway they confirmed that getting built in the factory is an 8 stage process (1 on the tracker we see) and it is still at stage one so not built.
-
Same as that, I spoke to VW customer services today and was told that build had not been started yet, I asked what the point of an allocated build week was and was told they have a 2 week window in which to complete the build! So build weeks appear not to count for much at all! Still ok for Christmas though I'm confident!
-
I had an e-mail from my VW dealer today informing me that all Golf production has been put back by 3 weeks! making my build week 44 (confirmed) to build week 47. Not good news, they have offered to lend me a Golf GT cabriolet until my GTI arrives, still assured I'll be in it for Christmas although it may be Christmas eve! Is there a build week 47 thread yet?!
-
I was on the phone to the dealer at 8 this evening (working late!) and he said he will look into my build and speak to me tomorrow. Hope it's not that late. Trading my car to them on 30 Nov so if I haven't got it by then hopefully I can get a courtesy car.
-
Yeeha, tracker has updated to in transit!!!! Any other BW 44's in transit?
-
Mine is still "build in progress".
-
Mine is stage 7 of 8. I've no idea what these stages are, but I would presume that's the painting to be done.
Anyone else got an update?
-
Mines now in transit and at 3 weeks waiting in Emden. Dealer is expecting it to get on city of Rome tomorrow so hopefully picking up next week some time. fingers crossed it makes that boat!
-
Looks like you'll be first neilgcal. Post some piccies!
-
Great news, went onto VW tracker today and now tripped over to 'In Transit'! Hooray,Hoorah, need to start getting into boat movements. Feeling really excited now, no idea how I will feel when the car arrives at the dealers!
-
City of Rome just departed at 2219 local at Emden so hopefully my car is on it and arrive in Port of Tyne at 2000 tomorrow!! Please update in the morning tracker!!

Hello neilgcal, hope you don't mind my asking but where are you getting transport information from? I know this has come up on here before but can't access it right now, cheers.
-
I have been following the forum pretty much daily for the last 6 months waiting patiently and just picked up relevant bits of info here and there. Monkeyhanger seems to be pretty clued up with the ships into the Tyne and apparently anything to Scotland goes through that port. The three ships operating Emden -Tyne I think are City of Rome, Paris and Rotterdam. You can google port departures or the ships themselves and you can track them and routes on sat nav etc. For Norwich I'm not sure what port is used or the ship names .. Maybe someone else can help??

the amount of cars coming and going on the tyne is amazing now. huge storage on both sides of the river
all the japanese cars seem to come and go on the south side at tyne dock (right next to the coal terminal..they must get covered in dust!)
all VAG cars have a storage facility on the north side next to a marina and a retail outlet
google maps was updated recently as its showing the new car storage they expanded into on the south side so you can see hundreds of cars lined up at both facilities and the new biomass tower they built..though not the huge new container crane just added
-
Yeah I had a little look Google and could see the huge car loading areas on the North and South banks but couldn't work out which was which .. know now!
-
the 2 big ships currently berthed are both Nissan Carriers..the hough ships are big things!
city of Rome due today
http://www.portoftyne.co.uk/business-divisions/marine-and-environmental-services/shipping-movements/expected-shipping/
city of amsterdam on the 15th
the 'city of' ships are tiny compared to the Hoegh ships that come in..lord knows how cars they can cram in mind as I am always amazed at the number of vehicles they can cram into the isle of Mull ferry!!
-
Thats mine arriving at the dealer today .. wow that was quick .. 9 days from start of build to being at the dealer in Glasgow!!!

Nice one mate, mine is showing 3 weeks now, hope it surprises everyone and arrives sooner!
-
Ok guys, went to see my car today and can confirm even though they were all built in week 45 with the factory delays, they are built to week 44 spec. The GTD has the sound actuator however as I have the advance telephone prep with the climate screen there is no MDI!
-
Anyone else got their BW44 car? Mine's still in transit.
-
Picked mine up 2 hours ago!!
Amazing!! Just nipped to get something to eat before going back out for a drive!!

Had my car for a whole 24 hours but now it's gone for 3 days. Away to get detailed! Can't wait to get it back now!!
-
Great news! No sign of mine as yet :(
-
Yes it's arrived at the docks! Heavy right foot, your new home is coming!
-
My GTi has 'Arrived in the UK' Hooray, now I am excited and want the car NOW! Not really sure in the finish which build week I was as it should have been BW44 but I'm sure it wasn't in the end. It will all seem academic once I'm in the dealers trying to peep under the 'I'm ready to come home now' cover! I live in Norfolk but am still considering winter wheels for the car, anyone else south east feel the same? Can't sleep now I'm too excited!
