Title: Which to buy?

Hi guys,

I'm 21 and having had a 1.2 clio for a year now and being on the cliosport.net forum for quite some time, I thought one forum to the next to find my next pride and joy. I'm basically a little bored of having no power and crawling up hills.

Basically I'm rather weary about getting a car with a turbo having had a naturally aspirated car. I'm only worried about the fact that they can be a pain and costly thing when they brake. So the question is do I go for a 1.8 turbo or the 1.9/2.0 GTI or go for one a little less powerful and go down the safe route. I would be much appreciated with any help. Thanks, Luke

welcome mate  :wink: if you can insure a 1.8t then go for 1 of these over the other 2 choices if you find a decent 1 you will have a lot less trouble with it  :smiley:

Welcome to the forum, 1.8 in non turbo is a lot better than the 2.0 or as Barry said go for the 1.8t subject to your insurance.

Thanks guys, think im going to go for a 1.8t in a few months, mad really how much insurance comes down when your 21, im looking at quotes for £850 and roughly £950 for a 2.0, my little clio Is getting quotes for £500 now
