On my commute home today the red traction control took over the whole of my head up display. After which this is what appeared on my media system when I selected car

Note the orange like mark in the middle. Anyone know what that is

Not had this one but I believe traction control, abs etc are all linked in with the tyre pressure warning that I had this morning, hope it's not a link we all start to experience

Sorry, but is that not a graphic of the fuel tank warning that you only have 20 miles range left ?

It's a bit blurred that pic but that's a good call

I thought that but you know I thought it was kind of linked to the other issue I had but upon reading further it was the car prepping for an emergency stop why I don't know.
Thanks for the input lads

I also thought fuel tank when I saw your pic. If it's prepping for emergency stop what speed were you at? That sounds like the city braking function. Could the radar be experiencing a malfunction?

I was taking off from stationary so no more than 5-8mph there was a guy in a red mk6 gtd who was making me nervous and he was trying to cut in to the lane so it could have been that. I have fired an email off to the dealership. May just take it into them if I feel it needs it

If so then it's the emergency brake system.

Yeah if someone was about to cut in front of you it's probably working exactly as intended.

Jimble that's the one. Thanks guys. The car didn't stop though.

Yeah, I've seen that a couple of times when the car in front of me slows down to turn left or right, and the car thinks I've got to close to back end of it.A quick tap of the "OK" button on the right hand side group of buttons on the steering wheel, shuts it up

This works well, this saved my GTI the other week :/ Some car in front slammed on to let his passenger out of the car
