Title: Turbo charging
Post by: mk1 on 08 June 2003, 00:28
I have a 1800  mk1 Golf 83, I was thinking if anybody had turbod this engine and what was there experience. I was thinking of a turbo and manifold of a diesel, 30 thou off the pistons, intercooler and a pressure sensor to fire the cold start injector.  Thoughts please, Steve.  ;)

The turbo MK1 is up and running, all parts from a local junkyard. Makes good power up to  about 5300 RPM, then drops off, will look into it. Have insalled a diy water injection on it to stop detonation. Anyone know how much water I should inject?, running standard engine with 9 psi of boost and a home made A/F meter, intercooler from a Saab 900. Its good fun to drive, prob as quick as a nos system (when sorted) without the re- fill probs, Steve. ;D
