Title: Any BW35 Still Waiting?
Post by: Blades72 on 30 September 2013, 14:17
Just wondering if anybody on BW35 are still waiting for their cars?
Mine went in to "Build In Progress" - 25/08
                       "In Transit 4 Weeks" - 18/09
                       "In Transit 3 Weeks" - 20/09
Still stuck at 3 weeks with no sign of it getting on a ship yet. I know that there have been delays on the build and I've had all different reasons from VWUK as to these delays (obviously have a long list of excuses and think "I'll use that one today"). As we are now in to wk40 I'm starting to get miffed at this waiting about and what seems to myself a long delay, especially when I see that people on BW36 & 37 are collecting their cars or are on a ship (pleased that you guys are taking delivery though). Currently at 22 weeks since I ordered my car (I know some of you have waited even longer) so it seems I'm going to hit the magical 24 weeks before I get it. If I was told when ordering that it would have taken this long I wouldn't of been as bothered with the wait, but when I was told originally 12 weeks  these delays have really got my back up. I think the only thing that has kept me sane is this great forum, being able to read reviews, comments and general moaning  from like minded people. This GTI is a car that I've really wanted since the MK5 and only now am I in a position to buy it, and I'm sure when it arrives all this will be forgotten. Yet at the moment this whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth!

No one has moaned more than me over the last 5 months, so don't worry about expressing yourself on here!!

Honestly, 2 weeks to go - it is worth the wait!!!

Yeah stick with it. You will look back and still think it's worth it.

I am waiting from a call from my dealer to confirm the day I will pickup my GTD. (Hopefully this week).  It's been a 5 month wait but nearly there! What's a few more weeks.

Besides, I have yet to see a GTI or GTD MK7 on the roads, so you will be in an exclusive group!

I'm at 22 weeks too, was supposed to be bw37 but got built last week and now also waiting for a boat. I understand there's some boats leaving tomorrow so fingers crossed ours will be on it!!!

I would have given up long ago if not for this forum  and I have not seen a mark 7 GTI or GTD on the road either so it will be an exclusive club for a while....

What dealer are you buying from Valenni?

Boucher mate. It's a business lease. Your consumer right? Any movement on your side?

Yes, consumer and from Boucher too. The dealer has emailed me to say that the VW area manager is investigating and trying to contact the factory to see what's going on!

So, you're hopefully getting behind the wheel this week? I'm sure you can't wait? Make sure you post plenty of photos!

Mine is expected to be in stock end last day of October and then a few days to PDI and get to me will make it 25/26 weeks from order to delivery.

Having seen mine delayed by an additional 3 weeks and some of comments on here of recent delays then maybe we all have same parts shortage - someone on here said it was the sat nav unit but does sound a little doubtful though of course not impossible.

If mine stays on track now I will be ok, as been so long what is another few weeks apathy but imagine that would change if it was pushed out through November, 6 mths is more than enough wait!

Must be some parts causing the holdup? What you have that I did not:

3 Door / Vienna Leather / Nav Pro / High Beam Assist / Rear Reversing Camera / Keyless Entry.

Maybe the camera or sat nav? People are reporting shortages?

It's unbelievable that you are spending more on your car yet having to wait!

Yes, it's very frustrating and I intend to turn up the pressure until I get some answers!

My build week 36 car has been showing as "build in progress" for nearly 4 weeks. After numerous emails to the dealer, no one could actually tell me what was happening with my car. I decided after being contacted by another forum member who was in the same position, to contact VW UK.

I've done this and been assigned a Case Manager. In almost 30 years of driving and buying cars, this has been the worst experience ever. Nearly 6 months wait for a VW Golf, probably 7 months by the time I get it. First time VW customer and also the last. Totally shambolic. I want answers and compensation.

That's terrible Sam. I mean, what way does the system work? Form day of purchase, to day of ownership, and everything in-between.

It seems to be amazingly random with no one knowing why? I envisage VW employees in Wolfsburg with a list of customers on a dart board. Then the staff get 3 darts each to throw. You get the idea.

Either way, hope you get sorted. I am still waiting on mine.

Finally my BW35 has arrived at the dealers, only been a 7 week wait since it went in to build. After this frustrating wait the excitment is begining to build again and I'm hoping this wait has been so worth it!
