Title: need some help urgent

hi all i have a mk4 golf gti 1.8 turbo t reg
when i brought it had the air flow meter unpluged i plugged it in and it started but missfired badly so since then i have replaced coilpack with aftermarket ones now if i start it up leave it to idle then plug air flow meter in the car cuts out
can anyone help me please???

sounds like you need a new MAF

ohright when its unpluged it runs okay but under idles some times would it be okay to put an aftermarket one on

trust me a cheap 1 is a hit an miss might work fine or a week or 2 but they are pish  :wink:

The wrong way around?! :huh:

Always buy a genuine MAF from VW, I've tried cheap ones and they always fail quickly. When I got mine from VW it was about £100 with exchange.

As posted only use a genuine one from Bosch or the dealers.

Do you not live near anyone on here that can try their MAF on yours before you splash out on one
