Hi All,
Is it me or the carbon grey on the MK7 'different' than the carbon grey on the MK6? Looking at pictures of both and to me they look different!
May be going mad.

I think you're right, the two are actually different colours
-
I don't think so, It may be just how the light is shining on them??
-
If the paint codes are the same the paint will be the same.
-
You would really need to see it under exactly the same controlled lighting conditions to know for sure, however as said above, if the paint code for CG is the same for the MK6 and MK7, then it's a pretty sure bet it's the same colour.
-
First picture is overexposed so paintwork looks lighter. Carbon Grey is one of those colours that can look very different depending on lighting conditions. On a bright, sunny day, it really gleams, but under dull, cloudy conditions it looks much darker and flatter.
-
Fair play, any idea where I might be able to find the paint codes?
-
Carbon grey is A9W on the mk6
-
Looking at the brochure for the MK7 GTi Carbon Grey is stated as "1K" or am I looking at the wrong value?
-
Definitely the same colour. Most colours look different depending on the camera and lighting conditions. Red often looks very pink-ish in photos!
-
Carbon Grey is the same colour as on the Mk6
