Title: Airbag fault
Post by: Nino on 26 September 2013, 18:59
Ok so i put my leathers in but they didnt come with any looms and and the preious idiot had botch cut his own loom and messed up the airag wires the green white and brown. So i wired in the wires manually into my airbag loom in the floor without cutting it and left the heated seat part alone for the tine being.

Now im getting an error on the dash "Airbag fault" and my airbag light is now staying on.

Is this because i havent got the correct heated seat loom connected yet which works in tamderm with the airbag wires????

I would try getting any codes erased and see it it comes back on, if it does the chances are the car will recognise the seat belts are different so I'd take the harness off the old seats and plug that in and tuck the buckle under the seats, we have to do that with the Motorhomes and camper vans we build at times,

Why would the seat belts have anything to do with this fault?

Clear them off and see if they come back. Sometimes even though you have the ignition off it can trigger the airbag fault. If they do try to narrow down what side is causing the code then have a good look over the wires. My mates 1.8T ended up being one of the sensors on the seat belt tensioner which he broke while changing the rear panels over
