Hi all,
Trying to tidy the car before the winter sets in, and Im looking at removing the black side strips on my 3 door GTi. Does anyone know how I get them off as they are rusting and would like to replace these? Also, what are they called officially as I cant find replacments.
Thanks guys sorry for the questions

do you mean the strips along the sills? if so they just pull of, and i think they are approx 25quid a side from tps, but if you mean the door rub strips, they just pull off also, and the plastic clips are approx a quid each again from tps.. :)

Cheers Mark.
They Black strips that run from front wheel arch to rear wheel arch under the door. Looks like they are metal inside and a black rubber/plastic coating?
I will look at tps. Thanks guys

The black wheel arches are held buy using rivots. The door strip running between the door and held by clips.

they about £35 a side ....common for bubbling and rusting new 1's are a plastic type no metal inside them...

I purchased replacement sill strips from a breakers. I wouldn't dare take the plastic arch covers off mine, out of sight, out of mind.
