Title: Multi device interface now working (almost)

I bought the car (approved used) a couple of weeks ago but didn't realize till I got it home that the MDI wasn't working.

The RCD 510 could not 'see' a USB stick connect via supplied adapter, in fact there wasn't even a soft button on the screen for MEDIA or BT AUDIO.

The dealership were not quite sure how they fixed it, but after clearing down several fault codes stored hey-presto!

However, when I connect my phone using a USB lead to the adapter to charge it, there is no output power - not sure if there is supposed to be from my car (59 plate) but it charges just fine in my wife's Golf (62 plate).

Maybe it's the usb lead itself.  Have you tried another lead or tried the lead in your wife's car?  Some third party leads don't work properly.

Yes, tried substituting leads. Never mind, no big deal.
