Who has had the longest wait for their car?
I think I am in with a shout, I ordered on the 15th April (23 weeks ago) and my car is at build week confirmed for this week.
I spoke to VW yesterday who told me it may get build next week and should arrive mid Nov (seems a bit long but they are probably stalling)
If this is the case it will be about 30 weeks wait.
Does anyone have a longer wait?
-
I doubt it'll take 6 weeks from build to dealership tbh although it's not unheard of, if mine arrives sometime next week then i'll have been waiting around 28 weeks, i think you and i will be pretty similar? Test drove a a GTI and a GTD for the first time last weekend and it will definately be worth the wait!
-
I have to say I was a bit disappointed when I spoke to VW yesterday, I had the feeling they were hiding something. As my car is supposed to be built this week I hoped it would be here late Oct but they said mid Nov.
-
Fingers crossed for you mate, mine skipped the being built part on the tracker wk 37 and went straight to in transit 4 weeks on the 14/09, it changed to 10 days yesterday so has been released to port, i'm hoping to get it on the 5th or 6th so would make it about 3 weeks from build to dealership.
-
Mine was ordered the same week, just checking my emails, 19th of April.. Checking the tracker.....again..... I am now stuck at the In transit status , in limbo, i dont hear from the dealer and when i get in touch with them i get the feeling that im bothering them
-
Ordered 9th April and still waiting :(
-
Ordered 13th April, mines is in transit, according to the tracker !
-
F*ck sake, and here was me thinking I was hard done by ordering back in he first week in June. April?! That's an absolute disgrace in my opinion. VW have had this oh so wrong from the outset. Never had issues like this with Audi
-
Slightly different situation for me as I'd have my car by now if the original one hadn't been hail damaged... however ordered 24th April, confirmed BW40, expected delivery early November.
-
Just been told at last minute mine will be delayed a further 3 weeks due to factory part shortage as was expecting it mid October, so if arrives on new date then it will be 25 ish weeks
-
Ordered mine in April and has just gone 'in transit'. If its 4-6 weeks till I get the car that will make it between 26 and 28 weeks!! Horrendous!
-
Ordered mine 2nd May. BW35 and still stuck "In Transit it will take 3 weeks"

Chin up, mine was 9 days from going in to transit and sitting at the dealers, don't pick up until Monday though due to replacement of damaged side skirt

Hi ordered 2nd April built week 37 dealer said up to 11 boats leaving Germany today if not on one of these next boats leave 6th October.

Is this with a confirmed build date? Did they say what parts there was a shortage of?
Thought the whole point of having a confirmed build date would be that they would have the parts etc required for your build at that time...
-
We haven't waited that long as the dealer found a cancelled order we could have, but it's BW 39 22.9.13 and we've been told delivery end Oct or early Nov. so if the info you've been given is correct (mid Nov) then we're being fobbed off
-
I am unsure if I beat you all by saying I ordered last week of march and still no idea of delivery or transit. Mine is still being built and no confirmation as to how far it has gone through the process? What do I win if I am the longest to wait for their car

You win a sense of smugness to go with the depression of not having a car yet.
Have you really been waiting this long?

You've beat me then, i ordered the last week in march but mines built and waiting for a boat!
-
It's easy for me to say having taken delivery, but it is worth the wait! Hang in there!!
-
Me! I've got to be up there with the longest wait.
Ordered on or around April 17th (order number given straight away) and the car is...
... still waiting for another couple of weeks yet to even be built assuming it stays at week 41.
-
I think the smugness was another stage of my depression. However I think I may now lose the chance of earning the crown of longest wait as my car is believe it or not built and on route to emden. I am not usually a naturally smug kinda guy. It takes a bit of work and practise.

I ordered mine on the 14th of April and it's still not been built yet. I must be the grumpiest person on here. Do I win anything??

Hi I see alot of people been waiting since April and stuff but obv car not avaiable until June/July so thats when the stop watch should start from plus you have ordered reverse camera, which should be called reverse your order ..anyway I ordered mine on the 7th July and so far tracker has no bw confirmation..after how long am i entitled to a courtesy car...what build week??
-
You're entitled to a courtesy car 20 weeks after the factory accepts your order. I have been told I am eligible from 23/09 but I don't think I'll bother. My confirmed build date is 29/09 so I hoping just another 5 weeks to go tops...

You should bother,
It costs VW a fair bit of cash to get you a hire car, this could have an impact on how they treat your order.
Whose order are they going to progress, yours that is costing them (VW) nothing or mine that is costing £200 (guess) per week in hire fees.

I agree. Take the car, means they are more likely to push your order through as its costing them money.
-
I picked up my courtesy car this morning, a Golf Plus, and I was surprised to learn that VW only pay 50% of the courtesy car cost, the dealer has to suffer the rest. I don't see why my dealer should suffer, they have been excellent, the mess/delay/frustration/anger is entirely down to VW!!
-
GET IN!!!!! after being a car tracking wh*re for the last month...yes...I have a build week confirmed earlier than promised. I was advised of bw 45, week commenting the 4th of November, however I have just had production commencing on the 20th of October. Delighted. Not long now surely

If I was a private buyer I would be all over it. My new GTD is a company car. My current car is a company car. For me there is too much hassle involved in swapping cars over for such a short period of time. If I had the space I could just take the car and leave it in a garage.

Ordered on the 8th of April built week 37 tracker showing in transit getting really fed up waiting but what can you do
-
Think i might find the phone number for vw uk and give them a ring, no change again on the tracker overnight.
