I know someone who will do the rear window and back passenger windows for £80, you cant legally do the front ones anymore, and I want to know what they will look like before I agree to it, does anybody have any pics of this done to their cars???
-
I thought you could have up to a 35% tint on the fronts? And something like a 70% on the backs?
-
nope you're not allowed anything, this guy ive found thatll do em is a professional spends all hours of the week working in a proper place however he wants to start up on his own at home doing just tinting so he knows his stuff.
-
new law, no tints on front windows now unless factory spec ones. Shame but hey what can you do.
Give me a pic of all relevent views and i will shop them darker for you.
-
Oh right, just read up on it and the law changed at the beginning of this year. Bit of an ar*e as I was thinking of having mine done but dont want the backs done and the fronts not at all!!
-
Dont bother tinting the rears without doing the fronts. Looks like a van imo (no offence to anyone)
Ive got chromolux tints all round front and back.looks like highly polished glass in the right light and no1 can look in. Few of my mates have 80% on their dubs and no problem with the coppers about them
If your not botherd about laws then do the lot.

nah i think ill pass, it'll look rubbish half done and id rather abide by the rules tbh! ill save up for some alloys instead!!

Doesn't matter, mk2s never came with factory tinted windows to the same degree as they will have been done. you will be asked to remove them.
Good choice on not having it done.

Blues fav purchase....aslong as they aint the five spkoes yo had before

There's no law on how dark the back ones can be. Vans have them 100% ;)
no tints are allowed between the B pillar and the front.
Cars that have darker windows on the back than the front look sh!te imo
-
if u get just the backs tinted, it CAN lower insurance in some cases as it can be classed as a van and not a car aslong as the tints r over a certain % and you need back window doin too! (correct me if im worng, but its something like that!)
-
something i found somewhere:
The Tintman device measures the amount of light transmitted into a vehicle and records the opacity of the glass. Windscreens on vehicles first used before April 1985 must let in 70 percent of light to stay legal. That figure rises to 75 percent for vehicles issued after that date. Front-side windows on all vehicles are required to let in 70 percent of light.

post me a picture of your car and i'll do it in Photoshop.
-
been done and it looks sh!t. No point in tinting the rears unless you want a van look about it.
-
i agree slick.. just keep norm windows i think they look less chav too! (no offence to ppl who have tinted windows... can look great, but not m kinda thing!)

But then you can get up to stuff that people cant see  :lipsrsealed:
unless they walk round to the front
