Title: Engine cut out on Golf GTI mk4 after start-up
Post by: gtidan on 19 August 2005, 11:33
Hi, I have a 99 Golf GTI mk4 and ive noticed occasionally it has cut out shortly after starting it up - especially when the aircon is already switched on... from time to time the rev counter dips a little when stationary too although doesnt cut out - are these signs that the MAF is on the way out or is the fact that it is cutting out after start up more likely something else like spark plugs?

Thanks

try cleaning throttle body with carb cleaner and see what happens . not sure if you can reset them as cant picture the engine .

Initially yes but it seems a few people have the same problem so finding out the solution will be useful :afro:
