Hello fellas
At the end of the month I'm wanting to get decat down pipe
Will I have any problems with mine being AUQ or don't I have sensor befor and after the cat??
Will this cause any bad running as it were??
-
The auq has a pre cat and after cat lambda sensors. When I decat ted mine before getting it mapped it kept bring the elm light on
-
Does it affect the running of the car??
And what's this I've heard about fooling the sensor/ ecu wether it be with a spacer or resistor or having it out of the decat pipe all together ??
-
It won't affect the running, all that the post cat sensor does is monitor emissions, the pre cat one is for fuelling.
You can use a spacer to trick the sensor into a false reading but the best bet is to have it coded out. That said, mine has done more than 10k miles with the decat and the engine light has not come on.
-
wont the car fail an MOT without a cat?
-
Yes it will. Apparently they check whether the cat is there at all before the emissions are looked at
-
grrrr, highly annoying, I wanted to turboback my car and decat seems im going to have to pa a crap load for a sports cat
-
the spacer works as i havent had an issue with it myself and ive done about 3k since
-
You could do what I'm planning on doing, get your REME Metalsmith to fabricate a removable cat on v-band clamp flanges, so come mot day you just swap the straight through section with the cat. Gonna cost me a crate.

Had a fault code come up but no EML on the dash - ran fine on a standard map.
