Good evening,
The drivers seat is not heating up anymore, however, the passenger seat still heats up ! Has anyone else had this problem?
What could the cause be? Will vagcom pick up any fault?
Thanks in advance
Mark

cant see vagcom picking anything up...
checked the wiring?
-
elements in the seat itself are more than likely broken

Almost certainly this.

Oh heck !
Thanks for the replies.
Being VW and a recaro seat I presume the element will be expensive to replace.
Does anyone know the part number I need?
Cheers

There is a company that sells elements on eBay, Teesside vw or something similar. They're about £100 each.

Brilliant, I will check it out.
Thanks again,
Mark

Aint they cheaper than that?

Nope, I spent a while looking and this was the best place I found:

Just seen that dom. Saved in my watch list lol

You could always try and repair it with a pieceof wife soldered in. Having said that I don't know if want to sit on it :/.
I've spent ages looking for a cheaper set as both have mine have gone and I thought they seemed a bit to expensive. But they were the only genuine ones I saw anywhere. I'll get round to it at some point.

you'd have to be careful not to mess up the resistance if you repaired it
-
True, I hadn't thought of that. I'm sure I saw someone repair them on a guide on mkiv. In all honesty mine haven't worked for the last two winters and I keep saying I'll get around to it.
