Title: Deep Black Pearl Mk7
Post by: blueheaduk on 19 September 2013, 22:51
Hey guys!

Just picked up my first GTI. It's deep black pearl and its gorgeous but from what I can tell it's going to need a fair bit of maintenance to keep it looking so good.

So, being the detailing newbie I am - I wondered if anyone can recommend any products or methods specific to DBP? I've had a flick through the guides and they're great but wondered if anyone had any specific tips.

Thanks chaps!
Greg

2 bucket method with grit guards and a decent mitt.
Use a mild shampoo.
Poorboys Black Hole is very good topped off with Dodo Juice Purple Haze or Angle Wax Dark Angel.

Purple haze is very very good wax for black cars. If you are interested I have a brand new large pot of the purple haze that I am willing to sell for a good price.

Let me know if you are interested

Purple Haze Pro is even easier to apply and offers better durability.

Thanks guys!

So if I'm going with the black hole and purple haze combo - how much black hole do I apply? Do I have to leave it for a while before adding PH?

It should tell you on the bottle but you can apply and remove without the need to cure.  After removing it all then apply PH.

I'm in the same boat but was going to seal it with cv23 after first wash. Can I use the products you mentioned after subsequent washes.

C2v3 can be used either a base coat or top layer so I would use Black Hole before applying C2v3 and then PH.
