Title: help me choose 2011 mk6
Post by: ryansharpnz on 18 September 2013, 20:51
Hi, i am deciding between 2 dsg 5 dr.  Both around £18.5k. One has 6,000 miles, with no additional options. Other has 14,000 miles with some extras, dab radio, metallic paint, Bluetooth etc.

which one?

I'd probably go with one with extras personally, 14,000 hardly anything really + least you know it's been ran in a bit and no issues thus far

14k is nothing.  Did it have a time/distance service at 1 year (10k miles)?

If one has the extras you will use...buy that.
If you prefer the colour of one of them...buy that.
If one is clearly in better condition...buy that.

toss a coin, if you don't like the answer go best of three, if you still don't like the answer then you know what you want

I do like the one with 14k miles on it. it is in mint condition. Both have 1 previous owner. The one with low mileage hasn't been driven much, in fact the guy said he has never used the paddle shifters or sports mode hardly at all. Is this a good thing? I was told with the extras it will hold it's value a little better, but I think that's salesman speak. I thought that the golden rule was lower mileage, but good to hear that 14k is considering nothing.

Definitely go for the one with the extra's! The difference in mileage is nothing but like booth said, make sure the 10k service has been done.

Enjoy it!
