Today i had my build week of 41 confirmed having placed my order early July.
My initial thought was excitement followed by doubts over my colour choice. :undecided:
Having read about so many delays should i get my hopes of an early November delivery or just brace for 2014?

I'm confirmed BW40, so I'm hoping for a November delivery or a v nice Xmas present!
-
Excited... Probably No, Optimistic definitely YES. I ordered my GTD mid july. And i am still waiting for a confirmed BW.
-
Grrrrrrr...i ordered mine the start of June and I have been told BW 45. Got the frickin raw deal here

Second week in November should be doable if all goes to plan, ~4 weeks from build to collection if your lucky.

I'm build week 38 (W/C 15/09/13) have been checking the tracker daily but still showing only 'build week confirmed'
I honestly don't expect to see mine until mid to late November (anything prior to this would be a bonus)
As an aside, a colleague of mine at work ordered a 1.6TDi DSG SE Golf in mid July (I ordered May 10th), just checked the tracker for him as he is on holiday................................has changed today to 'arrived in the UK'
I'm not moaning...............I'm past that stage now.
But why do other golfs take priority?

I hope so but if I prepare for the worst I may get a pleasant surprise.
First new car and first VW. Driving a 10yr old Peugeot 206 currently.

Ordered mid June and got a confirmed week 41 build date. Fingers crossed it doesn't change.

First new car and a Gti ! You really are in for a treat. Wasn't looking to change my mk6 Gtd but drove a mk7 Gti and placed an order there and then, probably one of the best all round cars on the market.

my build week 36 which wasn't started until first day of 37 will be at the dealers tomorrow. only taken 8 days from finishing build to dealer. I think it's just pot luck really.

I think GTDs started getting built later than GTIs (July I think?) and generally there seems to be more of a delay surrounding GTDs. Not that this helps...

That's quality. I'm a bw34 and I'm still at one of the three uk ports. Like you say pot luck. Mine took 13 days from arriving at Emden to hitch a ride and get to the uk.

But why do other golfs take priority?
(Engines/Suspension/What?)
Because they sell more of them.

Or because maybe people aren't prepared to wait more than 12 weeks for a standard Golf?
