Just a heads up. Probably around 6pm UK time. Cue the slow downloads and bricking of iPhones.
-
I probably won't be downloading it for a while. When iOS6 came out it completely buggered my iPhone 4. I don't want a repeat performance now i have the 5 as it's running nicely. Just apple's way of saying, "look your phone is now one year out of date, go and buy a new one or we will just make it get worse and worse"

I know what you mean but I don't think they do that (at least not to any major extent).
The 3GS has been supported since it's launch all the way up to now. Your 5 will be fine up to iOS8 or 9 I think.
-
Yeah i'm sure it will work. But it will run slower i'm sure. When iOS6 came out myself and a few people i know all with iPhone 4's updated straight away. All experienced the same issues with slowness and crashing. I will wait and see what the general conclusion is i think.

doubt ill be downloading it... certainly not for a few months, cause to be honest, i couldn't give a fek about any of the new features...
a torch, phones had them back in the early 2000's why are apple only just adding that to there phones now, regardless i have an app for that.
all the stuff to do with closing apps and serch bars etc. its not exactly hard to do them the way it is now.
the apple radio doesent come out in uk till god knows when.

All done. Having a quick play around with it and it all seems pretty slick and working okay. Will report back after a couple days with it though.
-
It's weird
-
I really like it! Used it a lot last night and this morning and it seems really well put together. Much better than I anticipated.
-
Features and some design elements are nice but i dont like the solid dock and folders :undecided:
-
Im going to wait until the hype downloaders are done  will do it in the next couple weeks i expect
-
Doing work Ipad now - 19 minutes not too shabby! Not gonna bother with my 5 because im a mile off having enough memory free.
-
Did it on my 4S this afternoon and looks okay. The only reason I didn't go for iOS 6 was the loss of the youtube app.
-
Has anybody lost anything, contacts, etc from doing the upgrade ?
My son did his last night and backed it up first to my iCloud. Great, I lost all my contacts, all 517 of them. Luckily got some 3rd party software to recover them
-
Thankfully not
Ironically I had had my 5 reset at the Apple store a couple of weeks back and lost most of them that time around
Battery life seems pretty good despite the hammering its had today
-
Downloaded and running iOS7 on my 4S seems to be running fine for me
-
fooking thing turned off my bluetooth, thought my hands free kit was fooked
-
I couldn't wait 2 weeks :grin:so stuck it on last night when i went to bed, all working perfectly this morning when i got up.
I actually quite like i think the old OS had to similar for too long

It is good. After using it for a couple days I really like it.
It's only a small feature but one I love:
If you're in an app (say music) and you are a few pages in (Music App > Albums > Select Album > Song Playing), instead of hitting the back button you can now just swipe from the furthest edge of the left side of the screen and drag right, that can act as your "go back" now.
Just means you don't have to stretch your thumb now.
-
Having had a play I quite like it. I hate the design generally, looks like something Microsoft would make for kids. However some of the features are really good.
-
It looks ok and I really like the call screen etc.
However I am on the iphone 4 and there is an issue with lag.
Downloaed Angry Bird Star Wars 2 and it is a bit laggy now and again (nothing running in background).
Does anyone share the same expierence with me?

It doesn't matter for you maybe, but what about all the corporate users with sensitive company emails/data/access on their devices...
-
The control centre access from the lock screen takes 2 seconds to turn off
setting>> control centre >>> turn off access in lock screen
As for the finger print scanner, yes you too can do a csi style job
it wasn't jst a photograph of a finger print, they took a high res picture then printed it onto plastic so the ridges were recreated then it was covered in glue which is later peeled off & used on the scanner.
I don't think you need to worry about your m8 doing that down the pub

Io7 makes your Iphone waterproof now. Shuts down battery and power to all electronics when a sensor detects water internally. Tidy. Might get one now.
