Title: Mk4 interior into mk3
Post by: SL56 on 18 August 2005, 20:36
Evening

Have acquired a mk4 25th Anni interior for my mk3 and now have the task of fitting the thing.

Ive seen it done before but was wondering if anyone here has done it? If so could you give some pointers ie how the front seats were fitted/ welded, how the back bench catches were accomodated etc etc

Any help much appreciated

aint got a clue i'm afraid, i'd imagine the fronts need some sort of adaptor welded to the mk4 seats to get the fronts in, or the whole lot chopped off and a mk3 subframe welded on, not sure about the rears at all though.

Yep got in touch with one of my dads m8s who's is a retrim specialist.

Just gonna weld the mk3 subframe as you say onto the mk4 seat and hey presto!!

Back bench is a different problem as it doesnt fit the arches. Not a problem though cos its getting stripped and fitted (foam and cover) to the original rear bench frame. (with the arm rest fitted through a bit of welding to the frame)

Should be a good job. I'll post the pics when its all done

Cheers
