How much do cupra r brakes normally go for? And will they fit under 16" wheels? Planning on upgrading.

Fairly sure you need 18s. The discs are 323mm but the calipers are chunky. As for price I've seen a fair few pairs around the 4-450 mark.

Bang on, you might get away with 17s but I doubt it. Half decent ones usually go for the £500 mark.

Seen them from 400-500.
Bought mine for £400 with discs and pads.
And yeh, biggest problem I've had is wheels that clear the chunky calipers.
Be prepared to buy wheel spacers!

I think I remember seeing a build thread on ED38 with them squeezed under 17s as a temporary fix but they needed shaving slightly and even then there can't have been more than a hairs width.

It will clear fine with 17" depending what wheels. I'm running 17" and my setup is larger than 323mm

It's not the disc size that's the issue, it's the width of the caliper. It depends on the offset and width of the wheels, you'll struggle under most 17's without spacers.

I have also read that thread, they did have to grind some of the caliper away.

My discs are larger than lcr disc and my calipers are larger and chunkier than lcr calipers

Yeah but those Rota wheels have a mega low offset don't they?
-
Yea I didn't like the idea of shaving my brake calipers

I also run these under 17's, have done for years and they fit fine.
Most OE 17'' rims will fit fine, as will almost all motorsport type rims.
the only things you'll struggle with are rims with dish basically, because tehy all have sh!t brake clearance.
