knowing that by the time you get your long awaited new car, the roads will be filthy and it'll be winter tyre time?
-
is this supposed to irritate people even more than the incompetence of VW?
-
lol we live in the UK. The roads are ALWAYS filthy
I also live in the Highlands so even during the summer the road is full of tractor muck, and in the Winter as soon as the snow falls half the roads (all the fun ones anyway) are closed lol.
-
Doesn't bother me, even in the summer there's so much dust that the car never stats clean anyway! And I don't bother with winter tyres - if it's icy/snowing I just don't drive anywhere!

 I think people will be just glad to be "knowing" their car is finally arriving, rather than "hoping"

I came to terms with the fact I was not going to be cruising our great British roads in the summer sunshine along time ago ,but there will always be next year

No but as I'm in the Air Force I spend 5 out of 7 days up on the North Coast  The biggest road we have up here is the A9 which is mostly single track and full of Lorries. The front end of my S2000 is peppered with chips too because of the poor road conditions

I was only thinking about this yesterday whilst waxing the 6, it'll soon be time to give this it's winter rest. Why, I don't know. We bought the most economical car in the world and have only done 9,000 miles in 2 and a half years. It gets babied more than my Mk2. That's out of site out of mind I suppose most of the time. The only person to benefit from my obsessiveness will be the next owner, but I do like having at least one shiny car in the garage. If I did (or should I say) when I have my 7, no doubt that will be treated the same way.

It'll probably be bloody spring by the time it arrives!!
Funny you should say that about the next owner benefitting from your obsessiveness, my wife always said I sold my cars in better condition than they left the factory.
I'm not so obsessive now.

I am actually wondering if I can turn up to the dealership with a set of winter wheels and get them to fit them before I drive home ;)
Doubt they will do that though.
-
why not. as long as you ask before shouldn't be a problem.
-
I will give it a go :)
When I get a BW I will have a word with the dealer.
