Title: How much for a re-map??
Post by: Davroos88 on 12 September 2013, 21:41
Hi, how much is it for a stage 1 remap? i pretty sure mine has been re-mapped but by who i dont know and when...still have not got a clue! can you get a updated remap if that makes any sense and where is the best place to go for a re-map?

Thanks David!

Yes you can get a remap over a remap.

best places are places like r-tech, carbon chip, Ptorque. etc.

do a search, plenty of threads on it.

prices vary by place. can be looking at 200 quid or so for a generic flashed map. can be looking at 2 or 3 times as more for a custom map.

Revo remaps are 350ish when not on sale and 287 during sales time. Mines a Revo and Ive been really pleased with it but got it done up north at Faulkand performance. Word on the street is Rtech is very good, possibly better  Angel tuning will do it for around 200 to 250 last time I checked. If you want the best results in terms of power go for Revo or R-tech, they can take the hp up to around 205 on an aum engine and torque to approx 240lbft.

As for others I think angel tuning was around 195hp and torque to 210-220ish but that depends on who exactly tunes it. Only heard good things from all of them tbh

Rtech are worth the trip and you can also avoid the Bridge Toll on the way back so you dont have to pay to get back into Wales!

Come on! I drove form Portsmouth to R-Tech.

You drive there exceeded for the new power, then you get to drive back and experience the power.

Based on where you are located id go R-tech. However I had mine done at Jabbasport in Peterborough. £250 inc rolling road before and after. Went from 148 to 203 :)

Is there different prices for different cars as I went to my local revo garage and got a quote for £600 when you guys talking round the £250 mark, they did say they would take my 210 GTi to about 265-275 tho??

Prices vary from tuner to tuner, not just different cars

I would expect the price to vary a little bit but from what ive seen r tech's site its gonna cost about £290 and as they are only an hour away, not read a bad thing about them compared to my local (v-hub) within 2 miles but twice the price. Anyone been to v-hub, I had them fit my cruise control and bought my car from them and they seem pretty spot on just wondering if anyone has had them do any tuning on their car?
