Not for piling old suitcases or surfboards on, I realise that makes me very 'uncool' but in my defence I could really do with using a roofbox occasionally
Is there such a thing? Who makes them? How do they mount?
-
I'm not 100% sure but I know that if you go to the Thule website there is nothing listed for a MK3, I took a look there with the same idea a while back.
Other option would be to try a company called MontBlanc.
Also, I seem to remember a member on here not long ago selling a roof rail system for a MK3 that he had imported from the States, check the classifieds.

thule and votex (o.e vw) bars come up on ebay often but they do seem to attract some scene tax!
-
Fred, go on ebay there are some Votex ones on there.

I have a good quality set of bars if your interested, £25 delivered. Not sure what make they are (I'll check when i get home from work) but they are alloy ones not cheap thin steel ones. Let me know if your interested and I'll pm you some pics.
-
Just emailed you some pics of the bars. The make is "Volex".

bought one off ebay - purely for practical reasons :)
2 big dogs (Afghan Hound & Greyhound) with the possibility of a third (another Afghan) on the way, a weekends camping gear and the Golf is full - a roofbox will make for some very welcome extra storage space.
