Title: 2003 TDI 150 questions/ advice needed
Post by: Jakethesnake83 on 09 September 2013, 11:04
Hi All,
I have a mint 2003 Golf GT TDI 150 that I probably will keep for a while. It's done 112k with full history, original clutch, turbo and cam.  It runs like a dream however mpg maybe a little low, getting 39-41mpg but is generally short ish runs. It's however started over boosting if I really boot it and take up to redline.
Questions are should I do away with the EGR replacing with maybe a allard kit? Or just take EGR off and clean it before re fitting and just make sure it's kept clean? I really don't wanna be dealing with lights coming up on dash due to the EGR removal. However I maybe know of place to clear lights. Please advise to what's best.
I've ordered the Innotec turbo cleaning kit to give that a good clean. Please advise on any other tweaks worth doing.

Many thanks in advance

Why would you take it to the red line?!  Its not a little petrol engine you need to screw the nuts off the torque band is much lower down.
