Title: ipod to cd changer lead
Post by: slimmbob83 on 09 September 2013, 10:36
On a mk4, is there such a thing on the market as a cd changer lead to iPod nano lead? I have the cd changer end of the wiring harness in my glovebox, so it would be ideal if I could just plug into that. I'm sure I read somewhere that there is such a lead, but I can't seem to find the info anywhere now! So I'm not sure if I made it up or not!

Really? I have had a good look, and all I can see is either jack leads or USB. Am I looking for the wrong thing? I want it to plug into the wiring harness that comes out in my glovebox if possible?

theres a lead that goes into the cd changer connection (on seen in the states) this changes the cd player to a RCA connection, u can then get a RCA to Jack connection

I've tried 2 of these leads on mine and neither of them work. It plugged into the CD changer connection and had 2 RCA connectors on for a jack lead (stereo ipod connection). You used the Select button to select the Changer input but it would revert straight back to CD when it didn't pick up the changer. There are units available that trick the CD player into thinking there is a changer there when actually it's your aftermarket ipod connection, but they are expensive. You might as well buy an aftermarket headunit instead as the Gamma unit is pretty basic and not very powerful anyway.
