Hi guys,
I have recently bought a mk4 golf 1.8t aum and the engine management light has just recently come on. I have brought the car last week and come on the next day. The car runs fine, after having a look at the service history docs that come with the car, there Is an ecu fault. I called the dealer where it was last serviced and they was giving me some bull saying no codes come up etc.... Tbh I'm not that much of a car person ha...
I took the car to a local garage and it come up with 3 fault codes which I forgot to take down, but my mate told me not to worry as they were not that important faults and reset it etc..
I'm from Guildford, does anyone know a car dealer/specialist that specialises in ecu that you can reccommend? The cars performance is fine , just for peace of mind as the lights doing my head in,
Cheers

Without knowing the fault codes it's almost impossible to help. I doubt the fault is with the ecu though.

The guy i brought the car off didnt evn mention anything
Why you think it's not a fault with the ecu? On the advisory note of the service. It said. Engine management light, ecu fault as previous :s

Just need someone to recommend a reputable and decent vw specialist around the Surrey or Berkshire area?...

ECU light will fail an mot test, you should call the garage that did your computer test and ask them what the codes were.

With the nine management light on it will fail mot?.
