As BW36ers still aren't getting built, they seem to be 2 weeks behind still. Hang in there.....resist the BMW garage!

I'm supposed to be BW37. I've never waited so long for a car - I think I'll be in a straight jacket by the time mine arrives?!

I've been to Specsavers so I can avoid the BMW garage

Did VW UK tell you that? Hope it's true! The BW33ers in white weren't late (well there were 2 that weren't that I know about), it was just all the other colours that were.

VW only require 30 hours to build your car.  They said it so it MUST be true.

However... they didn't say those 30 hours were consecutive.

Hi Lendo have gone for the very unpopular Limestone Grey only because Jacksons had 2 MK7s in that colour and thought it looked good.I guess most others will be white red or black what about you Lendo.

Much as I hope you chaps on BW37 do get your cars built in week 37 I also secretly hope "Lisa" at VW exec is fielding calls from a number of BW37s who want to know if/when their cars are going to be built.  I'm torn two ways, wanting good things for you but bad things for her!

After assuing me my BW37 would "definately" be built during BW37 and then (when pressed on if she could guarantee it) saying that all I could do was "wait and see" I'd like to feel she is eating humble pie now as she made it clear she wasn't impressed when after she said this I wanted to cancel.

"Why do you want to cancel after all this time?"
"It will be built in week 37."
"Well, all we can do is wait and see."
"I have no reason to expect there will be any delays!"

No I'm sure you haven't.  Its not like there have been any problems up to this point is it?  That's actually why we have these conversations, because we're all so happy that each week there are no issues, and you feel you have call me to discuss the lack of issues.

In fact I think Lisa's "assurances" remind me of someone.

I have some info on why a lot of us are getting delayed Build In Progress.  I had a Week 36 Build Week Confirmed and my Build was to commence on Week Commencing 01/09/13.  However my car has not been built yet and the Tracker rolled over automatically on 08/09/13 Sunday morning at midnight.  I contacted my dealer and they have had info that the delay of building my car as with many others is actually due to the back log of sorting out the cars damaged in the hailstorm a while ago.

As with many others on this forum I am getting a little frustrated and annoyed with the lack of info.  However I have come up trumps as I have wangled some free luxury mats and boot liner out of the delay.  Now just to get the car to put them in.

Congratulations... not jealous at all that my BW37 is still only "BW confirmed"

I guess they must build the common colours first then the more exclusive (and faster!) colours later in the week/fortnight or however long they deem a week to be now!

Hope your shipping is just as fast, would be good for those of us that ordered early to get some good fortune at the end of all this waiting. (Only 23 weeks since I ordered...)

Tend to Agree with the earlier comment "the tracker is Gollocks " bt works within parameters varying between
a day and 3 months accuracy    .
Mine has been confimed 37 for 2-3 weeks ,and still confirmed 37 ,mind could it be last down the line for this week
because of all the extras  :undecided:

Well as predicted by others, my confirmed b/w 37 has gone over as of midnight to " Build in progress". So likely to be some time before it is actually built.

So why do I feel a little excited having seen it change and knowing in reality nothing has happened?

My Build week 35, which showed as being built on the tracker, didn't actually get built until week 36, its now been showing as in Transit (4weeks) since the 7th Sept, so it's still sat waiting for a ship, and still no idea when it will be shipped.

Mine ticked over from scheduled 08/09/13 to build in progress on Saturday night / Sunday morning as we thought many would because they couldn't continue to show 08/09 when the next week had started.

Overnight Tues/Weds it has ticked over to In Transit, so I guess it is now a real physical car not just a dream!! Woo Hoo !!

Tracker still says average 4 weeks to reach the dealer though. Does this text change as it reaches Emden and then a Uk port etc ?

4 weeks means it's just left the factory and is waiting to be checked in at Emden. 3 weeks is booked at Emden and waiting for a ship. 10 days is on a ship and then UK. my build week 36 changed to 10 days overnight.

Will need to get shopping for G-techniq now

“The ultimate finish” website is as cheap as anywhere else for G-Techniq products but has the lowest threshold for free postage that I have seen at £30 minimum spend for free postage.

Your spec looks same as mine + extras. Tornado Red looks great with the C2V3 treatment.

mine did exactly the  same mate  and still says its at Emden now even though it arrived in the uk  on Monday  and will be at my dealers tomorrow

Same here getting right fed up with this and have told the dealer I may well cancel the order, I don't want to have a car in November might as well place a new order for March 2014 delivery.

Changed to 10 days today so I guess it's on a boat.

Finished build 6 days ago, went into transit(4 weeks) 5 days ago, changed to  in transit (3 weeks) yesterday and in transit (10 days) today.  My dealer did say that my car had been "marked for next available slot" when it left the factory so it shouldn't have to wait around long for a place on a boat. Didn't really hold out much hope that it would do any good, looks like I was wrong.

Cancel it, it's the only way these tossers will learn anything.

BMW have got me a build slot for Week 42!!! Odds on it will turn up before the Golf and from my drive it's a way better car everywhere. Piece of good fortune really.

Mine has disappeared too. Hopefully that does mean they are updating the tracker.

There seem to be a number of vehicle carriers due into and then out of Emden over the next few days, including one already there due to arrive in Grimsby on Saturday. Dare I hope that it's a sign that mine might be on that ? :undecided:

Indeed, Schelde Highway, Weser Highway and Autoprestige are all due in Emden within the next 10 hours. Doesn't mean they'll be heading to the UK though. Neckar Highway has just left for Grimsby.

The tracker seems to be back online again, but still showing 3 weeks. As Valenni says, changes to it seem to happen overnight so I'll be checking again in the morning in the (most likely) vain hope that it will have changed to 10 days and that it might land in Grimsby on Saturday morning.

Well car is in the country. Spoke to VWUK who quite cheerily said it will be with your dealer on Monday ring them sort out a quick PDI and away you go!!

That is the biggest load of sh!te I've ever heard in my life (and I've heard some whoppers from VW over the last 5 months) - it gets taxed instantly online when they receive the car and you've picked your reg number via the DVLA website (which they have to do obviously) - the DVLA then post you your tax disc - but the car is taxed straight away.  Yet again a dealer telling porkies so that they don't have to do some actual work on a deadline - if they receive your car on Sat/Monday morning there is literally no reason why you shouldn't pick it up Monday evening!  Don't accept the bullsh!t - its your car and you're paying good money for it - don't accept w7nky excuses because they're lazy!

Well after nearly 4 weeks in build the tracker has gone to in transit. (B/W 37)

Still concerned how long it's going to take before it leaves Emden. I was really hoping it would have arrived by now but alas it looks like I'll be lucky to see it by the end of the month. That would be exactly what I was quoted when it was ordered, but you know I was hoping it would come earlier  :embarrassed: especially when the build week was confirmed.

Oh well better try and put it out of my mind until it actually gets on a boat.

And mine is coming from a North London dealer, so perahps it might also be on Autoprestige... On another note, I had heard that it was only Inchcape cars that came via Sheerness. Is this true? I know that Grimsby has been remodelled to receive more vessels and I thought that the bulk of VW imports came via that port. I'd be grateful if someone disenfranchised me of that notion. Not that it really makes any difference whatsoever! It's interesting to note that Grimsby has had a delivery almost every day from Emden, whereas Sheerness has only had one in the last week. My dealer did say to me that he was expecting it in the first 10 days of October. We shall see, I'd love to pick it up sometime next week!

as every one  says hang on in there its well worth the wait
on checking my invoice the stealer had tried to charge me twice for the winter pack once for the with leather option
and once for the normal seat option

Mine is parked at the back of the dealers looking very nice we went to visit it on Saturday. Finally got to the bottom of the VEL issue. It's not VW it's not our fleet department its actually the leasining company that won't relaease it without a tax disc. So annoying am supposed to be collecting Wednesday but that's dependant on the tax disc actually turning up.
Never mind almost there, little less miles on it when I buy it in two years (depending on how the light fit goes lol)

No still at Sheerness. The transport system is just so random - dealer says anytime up to next Friday!?! Grrrr! At least it's close. Amazing to hear how pleased you are with yours though - it's what makes the waiting bearable

I've got some news on my BW37 car, it's being built next week, and I'll have it two weeks after that.

The fact it's a BMW, does that matter??

Just guessing from your sig, but did you buy from White Rose? I saw a car that resembled your spec whilst I was looking at mine yesterday (at their compound) and they said it was going to be collected on Saturday.

If so, it looked really smart!

Cheers Moro

It was, it is. Awesome, big smiles all round. 140 miles this afternoon - sun shining. Sussex twisties. Urban skid row on sea, motorways and roman road.

V different ride to scirocco 210 TSI, and the led strips!

I have enjoyed all my VW's and I think this beast from my perspective today, with its tight unused engine, DSG not having my driving signature yet, gingerly exploring its capabilities and a being a tad apprehensive, iwas truly awesome.

White Rose were excellent all round.

Enjoy yours
