Title: Ball joint extenders *group buy opportunity*
Post by: ju571n on 08 September 2013, 08:49
Morning men. So been looking for some ball joint extenders. Then it dawned on me that we all have threaded ball joints not pinch bolt ball joints. So all the ball joint extenders you can buy are for pinch bolt joints.

I have found a ball joint extender for ours in the form or a spacer block with raises the standard ball joint. But haven't found any where to purchase them.

I have spoken with Brad at Hoyles Bespoke Designs. Who make the top caps and pinch bolt extenders,  about threaded extenders. He did he made some for his van a few years back but due to lack of demand failed to put them into production. He said if 7 people are interested he would knock a batch up at £80. Plus postage I presume.

Are any of you lot interested in these? If you are, I can probably get drawings of the proposed extenders but knowing Brad they'll be top quality.

I'm one so that leaves 6 more.

Once you lower past a certain point your wishbones and track rods invert and point update Ards towards the wheel which has a massive effect on the way your car handles  so the extenders raise your ball joint to bring the wishbon back parallel(or as close as) to the ground. Therefore Improving handling back to having a moderately lowered car.

Google ball joint extenders and look at the pics you'll see what I mean.

Don't forget you'll also need the trackrod flip bushes, the wishbone and trackrod need to be similar angles.
Me and a mate just fitted some to his caddy, we got the bushes on eBay. I have a set if anyone needs them as I realised no-one did the extenders for the gtis. I've now extended the turrets on mine.
