ah rite. I think the plug near the gearbox is for electric speedo. that wouldn't be the golf that was parked in a garden in burnage by any chance? on the Kingsway near aldi?

looks like fuse box plugs to me. if your car has the hazard light switch on the dash then its a ce1 electrics. if it has the switch between the clocks and steering wheel then its ce2. if its ce1 the plugs wont fit and will need splicing as the ce1 had round terminals and ce2 were flat. if your 5 mins from Trafford centre you could be within shouting distance of me lol. im just off princess road.

Yeah its ce1 all the other wires are sorted and sliced in , just needed to find out if the white/black and the back/red are needed or wether I can chop them out , ive used the fusebox info on both fuseboxes but just cant seem to find the info on these 2 remaining wires ,  yeah your not to far for me mate

not sure on the others to be honest. do they go to the ecu? are all other sensors hooked up? and have you tried starting it yet?

All the information you'll ever need :)   http://www.a2resource.com/electrical/CE2.html

3 pin plug is for the electronic speedo drive on an 02a box, just cable tie it out the way. If you have kept the original main earth for your ce1 fusebox then yeah you can ditch the ce2 brown earth wire.
