Dear all,
I have a just moved house to a point where the wife needs her gti to gets our daughters to school.
However, the key is LOST, I've tried and tried but it cannot be found.
Anyone got ecu + key + door handle.
or any corrections/suggestions
T - 3 days till school runs EEEEAK

Have you tried VW. See if they have the code for the key, if so they can make you one. it'll be expensive.

Yeah I did mate, Ta.
10 days to order the key from Germany + the car has to be at the nearest dealer for coding which is 30 miles away.
didn't fancy the wait and cost of a low loader + 20 for key + 65 for coding. Wife needs her car on tuesday
SO, just bought me a new ecu, handles, transponder, key and ignition barrel. 85 delivered.
Hope it does the job, don't want to give up on the old girl yet.
Thanks
D

you do know taping the key and defeating the immobilizer can invalidate your insurance
(I know my work states, you would need to declare this unless you have a disclosed thatcham approved set up)
