Friend has a peugeot 206 gti 1999 137bhp version
Done searching and found a few things that it could be but still not really found 'my' answer.
The car cold or hot on idle is spot on doesn't make any strange noises although the idle is very slightly lumpy. - the cambelt does need changing so maybe the timing is slightly out by a grain
Its only when accelerating the engine tap/ticking noise, but quite light ticking, not like its about to blow up
If its useful
Just done a service
total quartz oil 5w40- new oil filter
bosch super4 plugs
and the rest but not really relavant to the engine
Just thinking new oil and plugs might rule out them being any problem
So anyone got an idea what we can do to fix this "tractory" noise?

I think you mis-understand the point of this section :lipsrsealed:
-
could be a leak in the downpipe that only opens up when you accelerate and the engine moves on its mountings.
-
Not very familiar with that engine since it's French... and you're on a VW site ;)
If it has tappets they might need adjusting.... could also be just the fuel injectors noise?
-
that will be the 1.8 16v right?

2.0 engine, my apologies to talk about this french junk lol neverless its still an engine and people love abit of mechanical problem to fix :P and regards to the downpipe i think the exhaust is blowing slightly from near the engine side of it as you can hear abit of " fluff " when you rev and on the come down
But as said no ticking on idle even when you rev

turn the radio up
