Thought I would share this link for you guys for those who are looking to make a subtle mod to their GTI or GTD you can get some really nice quality custom badges from a company in Germany;

This is an original VW part that was subsequently laminated in a special process with a red foil. The applied film is absolutely suitable for winter and keeps the cleaning by high pressure cleaners and car washes stood. Our product fits 4105-R 6R tailgates on all standard golf 4, 5, 6, 7 and Polo.
In short these are high quality versions of the crap you can get on eBay.
Tempted to get the red ones for my Carbon grey when it finally arrives....

The GTI has so many badges on it especially with the PP I don't know why you would need any more?

I might give Plasti dip a go on the bagdes but i'll see how i feel when it gets here. :-\

It's to replace the plain chrome with a coloured one, not as additional badges...

I plasti-dipped my mk5's badges but these ones have a nice chrome edging to them although they would be expensive compared to plastidip!

Hey y'know... of all the mods this one I quite like.
Wonder what the white, with slight chrome edge, version might look like on a Pure White GTI?
Tasty or tacky?
How easy / hard would they be to fit correctly (read OCD)?

Found this on Flickr, looks like VW played with the idea too

Hmmm...could look OK I guess on the right colour combo, but to be honest, somebody near me had a candy white Mk5 like my old one and the swapped their GTI badges out for red ones. I thought that in theory they "should" look good, but actually I thought they looked a bit tacky. Neutral chrome seems to work well enough to make me leave them alone.

Off-topic but the Grey Looks amazing, making me re-consider the Oryx White !

CSG would be my second option next to Pure White! My dealer has a CSG GTI, and when it's clean and in the bright sun, it looks fantastic. At times though it can look a bit dull too, but it is a nice colour for sure.

I think that picture of the grey is actually a photoshopped version of the red car still. But carbon grey does look amazing even so :)
