Hi can anyone help me? My throttle body is making ticking noises when you turn on ignition and the car is very jerky on overrun aproaching junctions etc. I have cleaned throttle body but to no avail. Does anyone know the reset/ re adaption procedure for the simos throttle body as now car wont run it fires then dies immediatly,
Cheers,

Are you ADY or AGG?
Have you scanned it for faults?
Checked for vac leaks?
Vag com can calibrate the tb if needed.
You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery 30 mins between.
Could also be crank sensor or relays.....
Scan it and report back, google u281 for cheap scan tool

Its AGG mate, yea I scanned it with my cheapo VAGscanner it coming up with a fault that isnt in my handbook, but is around a similar number to the throttle body potentiometer faults. No vac leaks was running perfect yesterday other than the jerkyness (which isnt a missfire and I have changed all engine mounts). Left battery disconnected for 1hr then did the switch ignition on for 30 secs, then start for 30 secs then start again and it was fine again for a while then started doing same fault again. Thinking I'm going to swap to anouther throttle body and maybe invest in VAGcom to recalibrate it?

Swapped throttle body for second hand one from breakers and problem fixed, so if anyone else gets this problem the throttle body is not meant to click away to itself after you turn engine off.

And they all lived happily ever after.
