Few of you might know i was having a few problems with hesitation in the rev range last week. So i have been speaking with Superchips all day, I explained the problem.
They straight away said are you running an intake, I said Yes, Carbonio, they said we have seen this before, we will send you over a new stage 1+ map. Think its to do with it delivering more air than the standard air box
So downloaded it and man it felt great (half of that might be placebo effect and half wishing I had better brakes). It felt so much more responsive and pulled really hard.
Now i know thats the problem with Bluefin - Its not custom from the start, therefore you just get a MK6 GTI standard map, But their customers service to try get it right and make you happy is so good, instant answer and advice. He asked me to try it for the weekend and give feedback to him on Monday
No idea what they have changed.....maybe ECU request more fuel and or more air.....No idea

So after all your it's not the map comments they say it's the map
Why do the other players stage 1 maps work with an intake
Everyone goes on about the great customer service but it just highlights their lack of product development, why with a system that has been in existence for 5 years they still cannot send you a correct map first time
I bet people are running around with issues and don't even realise this, hopefully this is sorted the issue and at least you haven't had to waste money on diagnostics

To be fair to them, they didnt send the wrong map first time, when i had my stage 1 first applied i didnt have an intake fitted and the map felt great.
And like it says on their website, stage 1 doesnt need any other mods ie Intake or TBE.
So for 80% of people who just get the stage 1 map and nothing else it will work perfect. Adding an intake changes the goal post slightly. They didnt develop stage 1 with a large intake as a given. Having a lot more air to hand is going to change how the map works / feels. Where as a custom map can adjusted on the day.
Because when i look back, the problem only started to become noticeable when the intake was fitted, either way im hoping it stays good now....

I did wonder if the Carbonio was the issue, glad you resolved

Plenty of people in intakes on stock VW maps and have no issues, I don't see the issue being the carbonio let's be honest APR do plough money into R&D

You ever have the issue Raffe? at stage 1 or 2? Did you have Bluefin?

No straight to Revo stage 2, no issues other than slippy clutch.
