The mrs says the car won't start or lock and red battery and orange steering wheel lights come on dash
Car makes a clicking sound when ignition is on.
Looks like the battery has died on my 22m old car. Not very good.
It's obviously covered on the warranty but I don't want my car recovered to dealership.
If I buy a battery will they refund me the money if I probide the old one?
I'm offshore so can't get home to sort it myself.

If its under warranty then it needs to go the dealers. You cant buy your own and then expect VW to pay for it.

Why not? I've had ten give me parts before under warranty which I've fitted myself without issue.
So I'm meant to wait 4 days till the car gets booked in then 2 days for them to test battery?
My dad went round and charged it and it started and ran fine and the lights got brighter with engine running so doubt its the alternator
Looks like the battery has just packed up.
Strange as its getting used alot now.
