I got a new south boost gauge imho its the best one because it perfectly matches the standard clocks but im only using a cheap carbon fibre pod because i was not paying £60-£70 for one to match the piller

I went for the same as the boys above. The New South gauge is £55 iirc from Awesome Gti and you won't find a new one any cheaper (I tried).

As for pod I also have an a pillar pod, but I've got the 42DD one which matches the interior nicely but they don't come cheap.

At the end of the day only you can make the decision of what you want though.

I have a Pro gauge from ebay but I'm starting to hate it as it sticks sometimes. I'll be ordering a Newsouth Mk6 GTI gauge soon though

well if you want an oil temp guage or afr guage or any other guage then get a duel pod... if not then dont...

are you going to use any of them?

someone i know has the following in his:
air fuel ratio
nos level
boost
oil temp
and i think air/nos ratio.

but he has a pretty highly tuned 600+bhp mr2 and does all his own ecu reprogramming etc so actually uses most of the read outs.

personally i cant see the need for any of them unless your going big power/have a stand alone ecu and do all the tuning yourself...

I wouldn't bother with any other gauges to be honest.

No point buying the oil temp gauge?

I only use my oil temp gauge to know when I can give the car some stick without doing it on a cold engine

Ye thats same reason bud. You cant see the oil temp on the mk4s? Unlike the mk3 & 2s.

Nice1 nino. Rang awesome and they said that the new south gauge comes with the hose. So will order next week.

Post by: brewey on 29 September 2013, 17:05
It does come with some hose, but honestly I'd get some silicone, as the hose that came with mine was very thin and brittle. I think I bought 3m of 3mm ID hose for a fiver.

This was the reason I ran an oil temp gauge on the Skoda.
