Looking to get a cone filter, probably an s2000 filter. But I have 2 questions.
1) What silicon reducer will I require for my standard MAF, and where do I buy it?
2) What do I use to filter my secondary air pump. As the hose connects to the airbox, with no airbox, I will have no filter. I don't want to delete the SAI.
Thanks again!

You don't need to out a filter on the sai pipe but I did more for engine dress up purposes the MAF end will need 70-72mm and the filter end is 86mm I think
-
Why is it that you don't need to filter the SAI pipe? Probably asking dumb questions here.
-
it only turns on for the first 90sec of the engine being started, its not that you "don't need one" more that it wont hurt if you do not use one.
-
Cool, well I've ordered an s2000 filter and a reducer. Where did you get your SAI filter? I like the idea of having one, and where on earth should I mount the SAI hose once the airbox is gone?
-
I cable tided the pipe to something nearby then used a universal oil breather filter from ebay
-
Ebay item 390603431983 is what I used for the sai
-
Thanks guys! All the stuff is ordered, I'll let you know how I get on. How much different is the noise of the turbo/dump?
-
I took mine up the road without my air box on to test a new part before I put it all back together and it sounded awesome  without it on so if its like that then I may have to get one of these filters

I have sub question for this, what do you do with the MAF sensor?

I take it by your question you have an AGU engine? if so you just need to cable tie it near your cone filter so an air flow can access the sensor :)

No it's an AUM I think
-
If you have a sensor bolted to your airbox it wont be an AUM
-
um you don't ditch the MAF, the cone fits to it...

The S2000 filter arrived this morning. It's bigger than expected. But then I don't know what I was expecting. Either way its nice and it's sitting on my desk because the damn silicon reducer hasn't arrived.
P.S. (whoever chose the colour of the plastic should be shot)

So in a completely crushing turn of events my car broke down AGAIN today. And i'm all out of money. I have emptied my saving account and my current account on it. I'm done. No more.
The engine sounds like a diesel again, low oil pressure or knackered cam chain tensioner. Theres a front end knock/thump/feels like a ran something solid over, and also the MAF died. I have a spare MAF so thats one problem sorted.
Trouble is i just started a new job yesterday, 2 grand pay cut, a 40 minute commute, and now this.
So long story short, i'm selling it. Anybody know of anybody who's looking for a solid car that needs a bit of work done? Would make a good car if you have the money to spend on it. I also have a brand new s2000 filter and silicon reducer to fit it to the MAF for sale.

£35 posted to you. Both brand new. I'll even throw in the two jubilee clips needed. Just bear with me in the VERY unlikely event of there being any good news from the garage. I'll know by the weekend and I can PM you then.

ok PM me when you know.
