Title: induction kits
Post by: pryda on 27 August 2013, 21:37
as my intake pipe needs replacing, I'm looking at upgrading to an induction kit and would like opinions on kits OTHER THAN the carbonio kit.

fancying the K&M Typhoon induction kit: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/induction-kits/car/volkswagen/golf-mk6-gti/2009/2-0-turbo/kn-filters-typhoon-induction-kit-black

anyone on here running it or have experience of it? cheers

I've looked at a few and when the time comes I will be opting for the vw racing. Looks great, sound is not to overwhelming and provides good gains with a map. Coming from a type R with a hks rsk, it was mayhem when hitting v tec with that, so I'm going to avoid an open filter this time around. Let me know what you decide!!

Why no Carbonio?

I'm not a fan of the induction noise they make, plus I think they look untidy in the engine bay. chances are I'll go for the K&N kit with a pipercross cold air feed pipe.

I thought the K&N was louder as it open cone....

The Carbonio is really loud. but it does sound awesome when letting off at 4000+ revs....Peopel turn around like WTF was that

I would go for the pipercross stage 2 kit

Had the ITG maxogen and hated the noise it made so sold it. Can't see the carbonio bein much different and as said above I also think they're untidy too.

The pipercross looks a proper job IMO

I have the pipercross stage 2. I can't fault it, and looks a lot tidier than k&n in my honest opinion.

But everyone has there own thoughts.....

Check out gnj Motorsport, excellent service on everything I have bought.

Please note, I have no affiliation with gnj but have had nothing but excellent customer service with super fast free delivery.
