Title: Part number wanted
Post by: Jimble on 25 August 2013, 18:22
Could someone with access to ETKA please have a look for the part number for a drivers side sun visor for a left hand drive GTI? I'd like to replace the passenger side one that has the stickers on for one without.

Cheers. ;)

Are the stickers really that bad?  If so, might be worth putting in a bulk order with a few of us

I really don't notice mine anymore.

It's not really a sticker that you can pull off. It's like it's painted onto the visor! Likewise though, I've forgotten it's there, don't really notice it. It seems to be in loads of new cars, not just VW's so it's obviously some bull EU safety policy.

I've got it in my works Outlander which i don't mind really, but it'll annoy the hell out of me on the black visor in the car! >:(

I read a german forum where the guys there were wanting to do the same. You could organise a swapsy.

A straight swapsy is no good, as one of us would end up with stickers on both sides.

It's a standard EU warning about using child seats in the front, it's not a sticker but actually sort of etched into the material, a bit like a transfer.

It bothered me for a few days but now I don't notice it.

I meant the Germans could order their drivers one and you could order your drivers one then swap. Or can you order the EU drivers one in the UK ?

Best to keep the original for when you sell it.

I guess the reason it's there is because at some time, somewhere a child has been injured.

Yeah fair comment, not sure if you can order the EU drivers one in the UK.

Anybody brave enough to try this out?! ;)

I don't mind the fact that there is as ticker on the inside of the visor, but on the outside?   Looks fugly as hell, and am definitely going to be at least looking for an alternative part from the EU to replace it at some point.

Thanks for that Chris! 8)

If i've read that correctly i'll need part number : 1KO 857 551 AF ? Which is a left hand visor with light and cover in black for USA?

Only thing that concerns me is that although it says for 2013 Golf the image of the visor looks like the old one without the licence holder? Is it definately for the MK7?

Wouldn't it be easier just to get a peelable black sticker to stick over it?

You won't notice it after a few days, really.
