Need a bit of help I've got a agu mk4 1.8t
At around 50+mph the whole car shakes/wobbles feels like its moving side to side it's not actually moving on the road tho just a shake
It stops soon as I come off the power so only under load doesn't do it if coasting
I've tryed different wheels/tires and I've given the engine a good pull/push/tuck and doesn't seem to have any movement there
Any ideas what it could be?

Wherls balanced?
Wheel bearings?
-
I've tried different wheels and tyres so not
That's
Can't be bearings as would do it if I was coasting or not
-
Engine misfiring??
-
Nope engines not misfiring
-
Checked your wishbone bushes? Track rod ends?
-
flywheel maybe :undecided:
-
No but I'd say its not that as again it would do it all the time

Sounds like typical inner cv joint failure. Get the car in the air and check them for excess play. Your car will have either early 100mm cv's (I can help with these) or the later 108mm joints, the 108mm joints are prone to failure.

Ok gona check this evening my car being a t plate id say its the
Early type
-
Well that's inconclusive put in in the air and could not really
Pinpoint a cause there's a bit of movement in the dog bone mount
But not exsesive and driveshafts and cvs seemed but one of the inner
Gaiters was split
I've noticed that its mainly between 40-60 mph

The best way to tell if the cv joint is shot would be to jack the car up and get underneath, hold the driveshaft cup still with one hand and rock the wheel back and forth with the other hand. There should be no play in between turning the wheel and the cv joint moving, if there is, you've found the broken joint.
I'm 99.9% sure this is your issue (been a vag technician for 8 years).

Might just change them all I've seen
Some used drive shafts with cv on both ends
On eBay for £50 local to me
I have also noticed that my engine is slightly lower
On the right side(passenger) and I have to push the gearstick
Over slightly more then you'd expect to get into 1st
Which makes me think engine mount

Get someone to sit in the car and rev it while you watch the engine for movement. Any excessive movement and it will be a mount, otherwise my money would also be on the CV.

Doesn't seem to be excessive as tried last night
But what's classed as excessive
