Title: New demo
Post by: mk7gti on 24 August 2013, 14:44
I was driving home from work last night and I noticed a new tornado red 5 door GTI running on 19's at my local dealers so I popped in . I have to say it looked fantastic. Red is an excellent colour it looked very smart in the metal . They had it parked right beside the night blue demo I test drove a month. Red wins hands down!

PS it was my first time seeing the 19's in the flesh and they really look the part. The only down side they will be a b;llocks to clean.

Cleaning of the 19 inch wheels is part of the reason I did not go for them.  I currently have 7 spoke white wheels on my Civic Type-R and they are an absolute pain.  I wanted an easier time of it this time around so went for the 5 spoke Austins instead.  I have read about a lip on the Austin wheels on this forum making it awkward to clean.  But it surely cannot be any worse than having the Santiago's with their intricate design to clean.

Although on the flip side they do look great.

The austins are a bit awkward to clean but they really are a nice set of alloys. The silver against the gloss black really sets them off and makes them look  . I didn't like the old austins with the pure round circles but these new ones are really lovely

The "old Austins" were called Monza Shadows, and before that on the Mk5, Monza II's.

Lol that's the thing... I haven't ordered from Agnews. I wouldn't buy a wheelbarrow from any of them crowd. Very bad previous experience with my dad and a new vw van! I actually know the head man in mallusk and Boucher but even still wouldn't buy there!
I ordered from Phillips in Lisburn

It's one to two weeks away so not long now. Don't worry I know what you both mean about Agnews. They where the best price for me and every penny counts  When are yours both due?

Agnews customer relations can leave a lot to be desired. But money talks too.

Was your GTI built when it was meant to be mk7? Ie. in the BW u were given... Was that 33?
My GTD is bw 36 so I hope to get before end of sept.

Boucher defo a demo it wasn't clean...

Only issue with boucher is their 20 second test drive which you get if you're lucky!!!!

I had a test drive in the Boucher Road GTD at the end of July and it definitely lasted a lot longer than 20 secs. Got a great mix of motorway, town and B roads. What a fantastic car, miles ahead of my own ST in refinement etc. Was a bit wary of driving it with DSG, but after a few miles I got used to it. However, I'm glad my GTD's a manual, as I like to tell the car what to do. :D

The salesman with whom I'm dealing has a GTD on order too.

Took some nice pics of the car, might post them if anyone's interested???

When is your motor due Sam. Great snaps.

It's confirmed to be built next week (w/c 1st September) and it's showing that on the tracker. Ordered it on the 9th April, so I'm guessing around the middle of October  When's yours due to be delivered?
